In the gritty wasteland of southern Ohio, T-Bone is just trying to stay out of prison and protect his developmentally disabled Uncle Hank. However, a chaotic day pushes T-Bone to the edge, culminating at a rowdy field party where an arrogant outsider mocks his uncle and flaunts the girl T-Bone admires. Driven by fierce familial loyalty, T-Bone retaliates violently during a tense knife game. Fleeing the aftermath, T-Bone and Hank find a quiet moment of solace in the wreckage of the night, bound together by the bittersweet memory of T-Bone's late father, whom Hank affectionately calls "Brank".
